Three Blue Demon teams finished the 2004-05 academic school year with conference best grade point averages.

USA Commissioner Britton Banowksy named the recipients of its Institutional Excellence Award and Sports Academic Awards.
The Institutional Excellence Award is given to the C-USA institution with the highest grade point average during the current academic year for all student-athletes in conference sponsored sports. Saint Louis University earned the award for the tenth consecutive year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.24, with six teams representing their respective sport's top GPA.
The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest grade point average for the current academic year. DePaul's women's cross country team compiled the highest average of all conference sports with a 3.68 GPA.
DePaul moved into the BIG EAST Conference on July 1, 2005.
