Cross Country Travels to Peoria

The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams continue their season Friday at the Bradley Open.

CHICAGO- The DePaul men’s and women’s cross country teams continue their season Friday, Sept. 8 at the Bradley Open in Peoria, Illinois. The meet, hosted by Bradley University, takes place at Detweiller Park with a women’s 5K race at 5:30 p.m. and a men’s 8K race at 6:15 p.m.

The field of competition places the Blue Demons among 19 squads in the women’s race and 17 teams in the men’s trek. In addition to host-team Bradley, DePaul faces regional squads from Illinois State, Indiana State, Northern Illinois, and Northwestern.

The Blue Demons enter the meet following a strong start to their season at last Saturday’s UIC Opener, where the men’s team placed second and the women’s team placed third.

Seniors Carrie Moffett and Sean Conroy paced their teams at the opener. The duo picked up a pair of third place finishes in the individual standings. Moffett notched a two-mile time of 11:45 and Conroy finished the 4.1 mile course in 20:57.
