DePaul Heads to New York

CHICAGO- The DePaul cross country team will travel to Jamesville N.Y. to run on Saturday, September 11 where Syracuse hosts the BIG EAST Preview. The men will compete in a 6k race, while the women will run a 5k. The men's race will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the women's race at 8:45 a.m.
The meet will give the Blue Demons a chance to run at Jamesville Beach Park and prepare for the BIG EAST Championship, which will also be hosted by Syracuse on the same course. Ten other schools will make the trip to Jamesville, N.Y. to run in the meet, including six from the BIG EAST. Connecticut, Syracuse, Seton Hall, South Florida, West Virginia and DePaul will represent the BIG EAST.
Matthew Graham won last week’s Vincentian Cup Invitational’s four mile race with a time of 19:59.44. Graham looks to continue his streak of six consecutive regular season victories. Eight DePaul men; Brian Begalke, Max Clink, Zak Koronkiewicz, Edward McDaniel, Chris Miedema, Max Rodrigues, Ian Sanchez and Tyler Schmitt, are competing alongside Graham on Saturday.
The women were able to take the top four spots and finish in first place at the Vincentian Cup Invitational. Toni Salvatore won the 4k race with a time of 14:36.79. Mary Cate Quiett came in second with a time of 15:08.16, Stephanie Hughes came in third with a time of 15:12.79 and Elena Sanz came in fourth with a time of 15:15.38. Clare O’Brien, Kelly Pickering and Kimberly Remine will be running in the women’s 5k race.
