CHICAGO – The DePaul cross country season rolls on this weekend as the men’s and women’s squads travel to South Bend, Indiana to compete in the 26th annual National Catholic Championships. Friday’s meet, hosted by Notre Dame, brings 35 women’s and 34 men’s teams to compete at the Burke Memorial Golf Course on the Notre Dame campus.
Following a junior varsity race at 3:30 p.m., the women’s 5K varsity race kicks off at 4:15 p.m. with the men’s 5 mile race at 5:00 p.m.
With 35 schools competing, this weekend’s meet is by far the largest race DePaul has competed in this year. Though all schools participating represent Catholic institutions, the field remains diverse, ranging from Division I rivals such as Notre Dame and Saint Louis University to Division II, Division III, and NAIA squads.
