Leah Rygh Named C-USA Cross Country Athlete of the Week
CHICAGO – DePaul senior Leah Rygh was selected as Conference USA’s Athlete of the Week after winning the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Saturday. It is the first time this season a DePaul runner has earned the league’s weekly honor. Rygh won the women’s 5,000 meters in a time of 17:24. She has led the Blue Demons in all three meets this season, including a third-place finish at the National Catholic Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 17. DePaul is off this weekend before traveling to University Park, Pa., for the Penn State National Invitational on Oct. 16. The 2004 C-USA Cross Country Championships, hosted by DePaul, is set for Oct. 30 at the Palos Hills Forest Preserve.
