Cross Country to Compete at Bradley Classic

CHICAGO- The DePaul men’s and women’s cross country teams run in Peoria, Illinois for the second time this season Friday at the Bradley Classic.  The meet begins at the Newman Golf Course with a women’s 6K race at 4:15 p.m. and continues with a men’s 8K trek at 5:00 p.m.

The Blue Demons compete in a field represented by 11 programs that includes intrastate rivals Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Illinois-Chicago, and Western Illinois.  Out-of-state squads from Arkansas State, Drake, Missouri, Saint Louis, Windsor, and Wisconsin-Green Bay round out the competition.

The Blue Demons ran in Peoria at September’s Bradley Open where they were paced by seniors Sean Conroy and Carrie Moffett.  Conroy finished second overall in the men’s 8K race with a time of 25:13 while Moffett finished eighth in the women’s 5K competition with a time of 18:44.

Conroy has led the men’s squad in all four of its races so far this season while freshman Terah Cheatham has paced the women’s team in its last two treks.

Friday’s meet is DePaul’s last before the BIG EAST Championship on October 27 in Boston.
