Cross Country Finishes Bradley Classic

PEORIA, Ill.- Senior Carrie Moffett and freshman Jakub Kolacz paced the DePaul cross country teams Friday at the Bradley Classic.  The men’s team finished seventh while the women’s squad placed 11th at the Newman Golf Course.

 

Moffett finished the women’s 6K race with a time of 23:25 to place 25th overall while freshman Terah Cheatham followed close behind, taking 31st at 23:35.  Freshman Cassey Lynn crossed the finish line at 24:26 to take 55th and freshman Sabrina Petri finished 85th with a time of 25:12.  Freshman Reda Josifi closed out DePaul’s top-five women as she placed 97th with a time of 25:36.

 

The women’s team posted a combined score of 259 while Southern Illinois topped the standings with a score of 36.

 

Kolacz led the men’s squad for the first time of his collegiate career, finishing 17th in the men’s 8K race with a time of 26:16.  He was followed by freshman Luke Rygh, who placed 30th with a time of 26:37.  Freshman Nick Schaefer crossed the finish line 45th at 26:58 while sophomore Rob Morgan placed 48th with a time of 26:59.  Freshman Glenn Morris finished 51st at 27:04 to close out DePaul’s top-five men.

 

The Blue Demon men combined for a score of 189 while Drake took first place with a score of 36.

 

DePaul returns to action Friday, October 27 at the BIG EAST Championship in Boston, Massachusetts.
