Moffett Paces Blue Demons in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior captain Carrie Moffett paced the Blue Demons with a 13th place finish Friday at the Bradley University Cross Country Classic.  The women's team finished eighth, while the men placed tenth.


Moffett paced the Blue Demons for the fourth time this season and finished the 6K course on the Neuman Golf Course in 22:23.  Maureen Kuhta finished 29th and was the second Blue Demon to finish the race, crossing the finish in 23:30.


The men were led by Kyle Ferry and Rob Morgan who crossed the finish seven seconds

apart.  Ferry finished the race in 27:40 for 63rd place, while Morgan crossed at 27:47 for 66th place. 


Windsor University won the men's title, with  Cristian Maruricio finishing the 8K course in 24:18. 


University of Missouri captured the women's title with all of their runners finishing in the top-10.  Drake's Ashley Anklam won with women's race in 20:57.


Also finishing the men's race for the Blue Demons were Ryan Solomon, Clayton Smith, Dan Graca and Brian Godar. Other women finishers included   Kelly Cunningham, Emily Prettyman, Colleen Stiles-Shields and Nicole Roesner.


The Blue Demons will head to the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships, October 28.  The race will be held at Van Courtlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. with the women slated to start at 12:30 p.m. and the men to begin at 1:10 p.m. (ET).
