Men's Cross Country Finishes 25th at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE
, Pa. – Gavin Kennedy’s 37th place finish overall led the men’s cross country team on Saturday at the Penn State National Invitational.  As a team, the Blue Demons finished 25th out of 38 teams.

 

Kennedy ran the 5.2 mile course in 26:29 and was followed by Anthony Becknek in 50th overall in 26:38.  Donnie Warner placed 139th out of 322 individuals in a time of 27:30.  Freshmen Dan Graca and Clayton Smith finished the afternoon for the Blue Demons with times of 29:01 and 29:40, respectively.

 

American University won the team title followed by Pennsylvania, Penn State, James Madison and Duquesne.  Penn State’s Dan Mazzocco took the individual crown in a winning time of 25:27.

 

Up next for the Blue Demons is the 10th annual Conference USA Championships.  DePaul is the host of the annual meet and it takes place on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Palos Hills Forest Preserve.  The 6k women’s championship begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by the men’s 8k championship at 11:30 a.m.
