Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh
Complete Results PALOS HILLS, Ill. – The DePaul men’s cross country team finished seventh out of 12 teams at the annual Conference USA Championships on Saturday morning. The meet, hosted by DePaul at the Palos Hills Forest Preserve, featured the league’s 12 programs. Richard Byrne led the Blue Demons with a 10th-place finish. He ran the challenging 8k course in 25:24 while earning second team All-Conference USA honors. He was followed by Anthony Becknek in 17th place and Gavin Kennedy in 30th place. Becknek posted a time of 25:41 while Kennedy finished in 26:14. Donnie Warner, Clayton Smith and Dan Graca rounded out the action for DePaul. Warner placed 36th in 26:31 followed by Smith in 61st at 28:00 and Graca’s time of 28:14 for 64th place. Mate Nemeth of Memphis won the individual crown in a winning time of 24:47. He finished the 8k course ahead of 76 other competitors while Houston won the team title for the first time in school history.
