Women's Cross Country Prepares for C-USA Championships

CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s cross country team will run in the ninth annual Conference USA Championships on Saturday morning in Tampa, Fla.  The University of South Florida is the host of the 2003 championship with the event being held at the USF Golf Course.  The women's 6k race begins at 9:30 a.m. EST.

A year ago, Erin Moffett became the first women's runner to win a conference championship since 1992 while the Blue Demons were third in Hattiesburg, Miss.  Moffett edged Marquette's Jessie Swan for the first DePaul individual champion since Alison Grosset won the 1992 Great Midwest Conference title.  The third-place team finish was the highest in the program’s history.  Marquette claimed the team title and will be going for their fourth straight C-USA Championship in Tampa.
