Cross Country to Race in NCAA Regionals Friday

CHICAGO -- The DePaul cross country teams will travel to Ames, Iowa, on Friday for the 2013 NCAA Midwest Regionals, hosted by Iowa State University.

For the Blue Demons, it will be their sixth tournament of the fall. In their last competition, both the men and women took eighth place at the BIG EAST Championships.

Ames will be home to teams from 13 conferences including the Atlantic 10, Big 12, BIG EAST, Big Sky, Big 10, Conference USA, Horizon League, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, Summit League, SEC and WAC, spanning across nine different states (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota).

The top two teams and top four individuals not on an advancing team move on to the NCAA Championships, held in Terra Haute, Ind. Additional teams and individuals are chosen through an at-large selection process following the regional competition.

The men will compete at 12 p.m. while the women race shortly after.
