CINCINNATI – Sharing the shots and deep scoring depth are the keys to DePaul maintaining its hold on first place in the BIG EAST Conference standings.

As coach Doug Bruno and his team take the Cintas Center court at 1 p.m. Sunday against Xavier, their “spread offense” has resulted in nearly six players averaging in double figures and a five-game winning streak.

The Blue Demons can strike at any time from any location on the floor with equanimity. That makes it tough on opposing coaches trying to design a defensive game plan.

Mart’e Grays is the leading scorer at 14.8 points per game followed by Ashton Millender (12.8), Amarah Coleman (12.2), Kelly Campbell (11), Chante Stonewall (10.6) and Tanita Allen (9.7).

That marvelous, synchronous balance was on full display Friday night during an 86-68 victory at Butler. Six Blue Demons finished the game scoring in double figures, and that was the ninth time this season this equal-opportunity program has pulled off that feat.

Another highlight that brought a smile to the legendary coach’s face during career win No. 700 was perhaps Amarah Coleman’s best overall game of the season. The 5-foot, 11-inch senior filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Bruno’s team has also reached double figures from beyond the arc in nine of its last 10 games and lead the country in three-pointers.

Millender is second in the BIG EAST in threes and is connecting on 40 percent of her long-distance shots (69-of-171).

In addition to leading the country in three-point shooting, the Blue Demons are No. 1 in three-pointers per game and three-point attempts, No. 3 in assists, No. 5 in assists per game and assist-turnover ratio and No. 6 in scoring offense.

Campbell is No. 2 in NCAA Division I in assist-turnover ratio, No. 21 in assists and No. 25 in assists per game.

The 5-foot, 10-inch sophomore also has 148 rebounds in her last 14 games after her nine-rebound performance Friday night at Butler. She leads the Blue Demons in rebounding, assists, steals and free throw percentage. She also tops the BIG EAST in assists.

Xavier (9-16, 2-12) comes into Sunday's game looking to snap a six-game losing streak after Friday's 80-63 BIG EAST loss to Marquette. Jada Byrd led the Musketeers with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting.

Xavier is led by Byrd who is averaging nearly 10 points per game along with Imani Partlow at 9.4 points and nearly six rebounds a game.

Last month, Blue Demons defeated Xavier 79-48 at Wintrust Arena behind Grays’ 18 points and seven rebounds. Campbell added 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals as the home team took control by outscoring the Musketeers 27-11 in the third quarter.
