Today In Blue Demon History:

On February 11, 2002, he DePaul men’s tennis team improved its dual record to 3-2 with a 5-1 win over Western Michigan on Saturday at the Lincoln Park Athletic Club. DePaul won two of the three doubles matches, including an 8-4 victory by Andy Michael and Robert Kurek at No. 1 In singles play, the Blue Demons won five of the six matches including No. 1 Jevgenij Cariov’s 6-3, 6-4 win.Click Here for the full story.

Golf: The DePaul golf team starts the second half of the 2012-13 season in Orlando at the The Match Play on Monday and Tuesday. DePaul is one of four teams competing in the match play tournament at Reunion Resort and will face Cleveland State in their first match on Monday morning. Click Here for the full story.

Women's Basketball: A brutal travel assignment and No. 2/3 Connecticut handed DePaul a 91-44 loss on Sunday at Gampel Pavilion.UConn (22-1, 9-1 BIG EAST) was paced by Stefanie Dolson’s 23 points and Bria Hartley’s 18 points and seven rebounds. Women's Tennis: No. 71 DePaul women's tennis marched onto its fifth straight win, defeating another tough opponent in Iowa 5-2 on Sunday at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness."I was extremely proud of our team's effort this weekend," said head coach Mark Ardizzone. "We beat two very good teams, who both play extremely hard. What was great about the weekend is it was such a team effort. Everyone of the "Super Six" contributed to the victories." Softball: In winning four of five, DePaul outscored its Sportco Classic opponents by a total of 28-9... in Sunday's game, Braden had two hits, two runs and one RBI while Verdun had two hits and one RBI and Connolly two hits... Boesel had the two-run homer and Coronado had one hit and one RBI... Verdun improved to 3-1 going seven innings and giving up one run on four hits with six strikeouts... the home run was the first earned run Verdun has given up in 22.1 innings this season... Verdun leads the Blue Demon regulars with a .533 batting average, one home run, three doubles and six RBIs... Coronado is hitting .500 and Connolly .375 with one home run and two doubles... Kali Gardner is hitting .333 and Samantha Dodd .313 with three doubles and five RBIs... Braden leads the team in runs scored with seven... in the pitching circle, Verdun is 3-1 with a 0.31 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 22.1 innings... opponents are batting .195 against her... Men's Basketball: Brandon Young scored 21 points as DePaul dropped an 89-78 loss at No. 24 Marquette on Saturday afternoon. Donnavan Kirk and Worrel Clahar each scored a career-high 16 points for the Blue Demons. Click Here for the full story.

Men's Tennis: DePaul men's tennis got off to a fast start, sweeping doubles and never looking back on its way to a 7-0 victory over visiting No. 75 UC Irvine on Saturday at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. DePaul moves to 2-4 in dual match play with the win, remaining undefeated (2-0) at home and snapping a four-match losing streak. UC Irvine dropped to 1-7 overall with the loss.
