Today In Blue Demon History:
On February 22 2009 The No. 41 DePaul women’s tennis team defeated Kansas in a neutral court match-up at the Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Center, 7-0. The Blue Demons improve to 10-2, while the Jayhawks fall to 4-2. The squad swept the doubles competition, winning all three matches to earn the point. Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic earned their 12th win as a pair, shutting out Edina Horvath and Kunigunda Dorn, 8-0. Click Here for the full story.
Women's Basketball: A slow start against the number two team in the country turned into an insurmountable deficit for DePaul on Sunday as the women's basketball team fell 84-56 to Notre Dame at a packed McGrath-Phillips Arena. Click Here for the full story.
Men's Basketball:For one half on Saturday night, DePaul's game plan was working like a charm.Unfortunately, the Blue Demons couldn't duplicate that effort for the full 40 minutes in an 81-69 BIG EAST Conference loss to Connecticut at Allstate Arena. Click Here for the full story.
Softball: For the third game in a row, it all came down to the seventh inning. This time, DePaul held on for a 4-3 victory over No. 15/15 Michigan Sunday at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. After beating UCF and Pacific in the last inning on Saturday, the Blue Demons jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Sunday and withstood the Wolverines' comeback attempt.Braden and Verdun were chosen for the all-tournament team... Maize batted .273 with three RBIs... on the season, Coronado leads the team with a .405 batting average and is followed by Dodd (.295, 12 runs), Verdun (.283, 10 RBIs) and Braden (.268, 10 runs). .Click Here for the full stories on the whole weekend.
Women's Tennis: No. 69 DePaul women’s tennis swept the day on a special Saturday, improving its win streak to nine by running off back-to-back 7-0 wins against visiting IPFW and Western Illinois at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. Men's Tennis: A tough road weekend came to a close for DePaul men's tennis on Sunday as the Blue Demons dropped a 7-0 decision to Arizona at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. With the loss, DePaul moves to 3-6 overall and 0-3 on the road. Arizona improved to 8-2. Click Here for the full story.
