Alex Mangan scored the game-winner in the 67th minute, just four minutes after entering the match at Lakeside Field for the first time. His best friend, Steffen Vroom, had given DePaul (1-2) an early lead with an unassisted goal just 8 minutes, 15 seconds into the match. Sports Report: Women's Basketball: The BIG EAST Conference announced its 2012-13 women's basketball league and television schedule on Thursday. The Blue Demons will have six league games televised including three on ESPNU, a pair on CBS Sports Network and open their conference slate against Louisville on the BIG EAST Network's Game of the Week. The Cardinals come to Lincoln Park for the first of two conference games between the two teams on Jan. 5. DePaul and Louisville hit the hardwood at 5 p.m. while the game has been tabbed the league's Game of the Week on the BIG EAST Network. Click Here for the full story and 2012-2013 schedule.
Upcoming Events: The women's soccer team heads to the Minnesota Gold Classic in Minneapolis this weekend. DePaul takes on Iowa State in a neutral site matchup on Friday night at 4:30 p.m. CT before battling host and Chastain alma mater, Minnesota, on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. The women's volleyball team will be back in action this weekend at the Chicago Classic, hosted at Mother McAuley High School in Evergreen Park, Ill. Participating teams include No. 4 Penn State, Oregon State and local-rival UIC. The Blue Demons will begin tournament play on Saturday, September 8 with 10:00 a.m. matchup against the Nittany Lions. The men's soccer team returns to the field on Friday evening when it travels to SIU-Edwardsville for a 6 p.m. matchup against the Cougars. The Cross Country Team will compete in the NIU Open in DeKalb, Illinois this Friday. Don't miss DePaul's Annual Softball Fall Alumnae Game on September 15th at Cacciatore Stadium. First Pitch is at noon. DePaul women's soccer alumnae day will take place September 16th with an alumnae competition at 9:30 am, followed by a reception in the Hall of Fame foyer and a 1pm kickoff against Louisville. DePaul men's soccer alumni day is September 29th, 9:30 am alumni game, followed by post game reception in the Hall of Fame Foyer then 1pm kickoff against St. Johns.
