The 2001 squad won the Conference USA title and competed in the NCAA tournament. Click Here for the full story. Alumni Hall, set in the center of DePaul's Lincoln Park campus, was home to Blue Demons Athletics from 1956-2000. The 5,300 seat arean was the regular home of the mens basketball team from 1956 to 1980. The Blue Demons finished 288-71 all-time in Alumni Hall. The building was torn down in July 2000 to make room for the Depaul student center. Click Here to start bidding! Sports Report: Men's Soccer: The men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Southern Illinois- Edwardsville on Friday night. Art Garza led the Blue Demons with three shots and one on goal. Zach Forbes, Jared Blincow and Kyle Gustafson each had a shot on goal.
Women's Soccer: Just when DePaul was pressing for the equalizer, Iowa State came up with the clincher. A Cyclone goal in the 81st minute sent the Blue Demons to a 2-0 loss Friday at the Minnesota Gold Classic. Click Here for the full story on Friday's match. On Sunday, A hat trick from Golden Gophers sophomore Taylor Uhl sent the DePaul women’s soccer team to a 3-0 shutout loss in the Blue Demons’ final game of the Minnesota Gold Classic. Women's Volleyball: The DePaul volleyball team hung tough with No. 2 Penn State, but ultimately fell 3-0 (17-25, 12-25, 17-25) in the opening match of the 2012 Chicago Classic on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Mother McAuley High School. Click Here for the full recap on Saturday's first match. As for the second match The DePaul volleyball team fell, losing another 3-0 decision (22-25, 16-25, 24-26) - this time to local foe UIC. The last match of the tournament DePaul volleyball found itself down 0-2 early, but put together a spirited comeback to force a fifth set against visiting Oregon State on Sunday, September 9, before ultimately falling 3-2 in their final match at the 2012 Chicago Classic at Mother McAuley Athletic Center. Click Here for the full story. Cross Country: Eddie McDaniel came through on Friday night, winning the NIU Open in a time of 19:02.34. Jacqueline Kasal was DePaul's top finisher on the women's side at No. 29 as the Blue Demons finished fifth. Northwestern won the women's 5K race and Marquette was second. Click Here for the full story. Upcoming Events: The men's soccer team returns to Wish Field on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. rivalry match against Loyola Chicago. The women's soccer team heads to Cincinnati on Friday for a 4 p.m. matchup before returning home to Wish Field for a 1 p.m. matchup on Sunday against Louisville. The women's volleyball team will play at the Loyola Rambler Challenge from Sept. 14-15. DePaul will face South Carolina Upstate, Chicago State and Loyola over the two-day event. Cross Country's next race is Friday, Sept. 14 at the National Catholic Championship in South Bend, Ind. Don't miss DePaul's Annual Softball Fall Alumnae Game on September 15th at Cacciatore Stadium. First Pitch is at noon. DePaul women's soccer alumnae day will take place September 16th with an alumnae competition at 9:30 am, followed by a reception in the Hall of Fame foyer and a 1pm kickoff against Louisville. DePaul men's soccer alumni day is September 29th, 9:30 am alumni game, followed by post game reception in the Hall of Fame Foyer then 1pm kickoff against St. Johns.
