Ex-DePaul Standout Sitch Headlines Women's Soccer Alumnae Day on Sunday

CHICAGO – Julianne Sitch, the greatest women’s soccer player in DePaul history, will be among the former players returning to campus for Women’s Soccer Alumnae Day on Sunday, Sept. 16. Sitch is the all-time leader in goals, assists and points at DePaul and was selected to the NSCAA All-American Second Team in 2003. In each of her four seasons (2002-05), Sitch was named to the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Team. Over the summer, Sitch helped lead the Chicago Red Stars women’s professional soccer team to the title game of the WPSL Elite League where the Stars fell to the WNY Flash on penalty kicks. Included among the other former DePaul players who will be recognized at halftime of the Blue Demons’ match against Louisville are Kelsey Hoinkes, Autumn Laidler, Aly Wray, Michelle Scandora, Mary Pat Lehman, Lauren Ashley, Jenna June, Tessa Fegen, Dominique Locascio, Cassie Ozark, Marisa Dobbertin, Kelly Lord, Erin Walter, Sarah Brennan and Kristi Caprini. Women’s soccer alumnae will have a mid-morning scrimmage at Wish Field followed by lunch in the McGrath Arena Hall of Fame Foyer at noon. There will be speeches by DePaul Athletics Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto and women’s soccer coach Erin Chastain. The Blue Demons take on Louisville at 1 p.m. in their BIG EAST Conference home opener.
