Sports Report: Men's Golf: The DePaul golf team opens its 2012-13 season at the first annual Ram Masters Invitational at Fort Collins Country Club, Sept. 17-18 in Colorado. The 54-hole tournament will be played in threesomes with the teams playing 36-holes in a shotgun start beginning at 7 a.m. (CT) on Monday, Sept. 17. Women's Soccer: On Friday, tough defense was once again the star of the match for the DePaul women’s soccer team, it was freshman Brianna Ryce's first collegiate goal—a quick shot in the 87th minute—that gave the Blue Demons a 1-0 win over Cincinnati to open up BIG EAST Conference action. Click Here for the full story. On Sunday, DePaul ran into one of the BIG EAST Conference’s best on Sunday and came up on the short end. Louisville, which is receiving votes in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25 national rankings, walked off Wish Field with a 2-0 victory. Click Here for the full story.
Men's Tennis: Filip Dzanko finished off a undefeated weekend to claim the tournament singles title as the DePaul men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Sunday, September 16. The Blue Demons gathered four singles victories overall and a pair of wins at doubles to cap play at Town Club. Click Here for the full story. Women's Volleyball: The DePaul Blue Demons narrowly missed out on a perfect weekend, dropping the final match of the Loyola Rambler Challenge to the hosts, 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19), on Saturday, September 15 at Gentile Arena. Cross Country: Led by junior Eddie McDaniel on the men's side and sophomore Jacqueline Kasal on the women's side, the DePaul men's and women's cross country squads finished strong in the National Catholic Cross Country Championships. Hosted by the University of Notre Dame, the Blue Demons were up against 33 other men's and women's teams. Click Here for the full story. Men's Soccer:Despite a final minute goal from sophomore Thiago Ganancio, the DePaul men's soccer team couldn't mount the comeback it needed to overtake Ohio State on Friday night as it fell 2-1 in Columbus. DePaul men's soccer alumni day is September 29th, 9:30 am alumni game, followed by post game reception in the Hall of Fame Foyer then 1pm kickoff against St. Johns.
