Today In Blue Demon History:

On October 8th 2009, DePaul women's tennis players Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic finished the Riviera/ITA All-American Championship on Wednesday at the Riviera Tennis Club. The pair completed the tournament with a doubles win in the consolation bracket.In the pair's final match of the Champioship, Redecsi and Salkovic dominated the Florida State pair of Noemie Scharle and Katie Rybakova and took the match 8-4. Click Here for the full story.

Sports Report:

Women's Soccer: After falling 1-0 in its last BIG EAST Conference match, the DePaul women’s soccer team rebounded to earn a 1-0 shutout of their own on Sunday as it took down visiting Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon at Wish Field.  An 84th-minute goal off the foot of freshman Elise Wyatt lifted the Blue Demons to their third BIG EAST win of the season. Click Here for the full story on yesterday's match. Men's Golf: The DePaul golf team played its best round of the tournament on Sunday and took second place honors at the Blue Demons’ annual John Dallio Memorial Tournament at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. Click Here for the full story. 

Women's Volleyball:A 19-kill performance by junior Vesela Zapryanova wasn't enough as DePaul volleyball dropped a 3-1 match to visiting Connecticut on Sunday at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Click Here for the full story. The DePaul volleyball team got double-digit kill performances from Vesela Zapryanova and Abbie Fleener, but ultimately dropped a tough 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-15) decision to St. John's at McGrath-Phillips Arena on Saturday. Click Here for the full story. 

Men's Soccer:  For the second day in a row, DePaul lost a tough one on a late goal at Wish Field. After battling BIG EAST Conference opponent Villanova dead-even for 78 minutes on Saturday, the visiting team scored the game-winner in the 79th minute for a 1-0 victory. Click Here for the full story. 

Cross Country: Eddie McDaniel led the way for DePaul Saturday, finishing sixth at the Lucian Rosa Invite hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside.Herald Alvarez wound up in 17th while Zak Koronkiewicz finished 30th and Max Clink at 31st at the Dannehl Cross Country Course.On the women's side, Jacqueline Kasal led the Blue Demons with a 17th-place finish and Molly Shiroishi came in at No. 34. Ferris State, ranked No. 2 in the Division II Midwest Region, came in first in the 15-team field while DePaul finished in 10th. Click Here for the full story.
