Today In Blue Demon History:

On November 12th 2008, DePaul setter Christy Landschoot piloted her squad to a season-best .359 (47-14-92) attack percentage as the Blue Demons defeated Bradley, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-19) at McGrath Arena. Landschoot dominated the match with her precision setting and unstoppable defense. Landschoot dished out 40 assists while she recorded a team-high 10 digs and added two blocks. Volleyball: Fueled by the emotion of Senior Day, and with many team milestones within reach, the DePaul volleyball team recorded a 3-1 (27-25, 32-34, 25-21, 25-16) BIG EAST Conference win over Rutgers on Sunday at McGrath-Phillips Arena. On Friday, Vesela Zapryanova led the way with 19 kills as the DePaul volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak, overtaking St. John's 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22) in an ESPN3 televised match on Friday at Carnesecca Arena. Men's Basketball: If DePaul is really going to experience a turnaround season, it will come on the strength of game-changing surges.That's what happened in the second half of the Blue Demons' 91-59 season-opening victory over UC Riverside Friday night at McGrath-Phillips Arena.A competitive game turned into a rout when Cleveland Melvin (16 points, seven rebounds, five steals), Brandon Young (20 points, five assists, two steals), Charles McKinney, Derrell Robertson, Jr. and Worrell Clahar (eight points, three assists, two steals) ignited a 16-3 run that gave the home team an insurmountable 61-37 lead. Cross Country: Once again Eddie McDaniel led the way for DePaul as he has done all season.The junior distance runner came in No. 65 Friday at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Midwest Regional and was the first Blue Demon across the finish line in the final race of the season.The men's cross country team wound up No. 22 in the 29-team field, an improvement from the 2011 NCAA Midwest Regional when DePaul was No. 23 of 25 teams. Women's Tennis: - Jasmin Kling and Jarret Fisher both capped undefeated weekends with flight championships as the DePaul women's tennis team added three more singles wins on Sunday at the WMU Super Challenge hosted by West Hills Athletic Club. Click Here for the full story.
