Today In Blue Demon History:

On December 3rd, 2007, Men's basketball player Draelon Burns was named the BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week. Burns scored 32 points for the second consecutive game in DePaul’s 85-70 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He was 11-for-13 from the field and a school-record 8-for-8 from 3-point range. Burns also became the fifth player in school history, and the first since 1994, to score 32 or more points in consecutive games. Burns also had 32 points against North Carolina A&T on November 24.

Men's Basketball:Cleveland Melvin scored 21 points and made a steal and two free throws late to lift DePaul to an 80-76 victory over Auburn Friday night in the SEC/Big East Challenge. Melvin swiped a pass from Rob Chubb as the Tigers tried to set up for at least a tying basket. He drove for a layup with 13 seconds left but was fouled by Noel Johnson and put the game away for the Blue Demons (4-3).Brandon Young scored 19 points and had five assists for DePaul, which has won two straight games. Women's Basketball: Playing for the first time since their Thanksgiving trip to the Virgin Islands, these Blue Demons got back to playing their style of basketball. Unleashing its patented full-court, up-and-down attack and raining down three-pointers, DePaul blitzed Northwestern 89-61 Sunday at McGrath-Phillips Arena in DePaul coach Doug Bruno’s 800th game heading up the Blue Demon program.Click Here for the full story.
