Facility Improvements

A Championship Vision - Event Center

Greatness seizes the moment. And the time has come for DePaul to build a new home for Blue Demons basketball. With a strong academic reputation, a vibrant Catholic urban mission, and a position of leadership in athletics and education, DePaul University is poised to return to the ranks of basketball's elite.

Internationally renowned firm Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects will design a new home for Blue Demons basketball that will serve as the launching pad for DePaul's return to a national basketball presence. The new events center will be an anchor in one of the city's resurgent communities and builds upon the legacy of DePaul as "Chicago’s University."

Outdoor Track Project

Outdoor Track

Outdoor Track Project
DePaul Athletics joined Lane Tech in a cooperative effort to provide a home for Blue Demon Track & Field. DePaul provided the resources through a long-term lease that allowed Lane Tech to build a six-lane track in Lane Tech Stadium.

The goal for the outdoor track project has been to raise $400,000, a modest price to have a track that  DePaul can calls its own. The goal also included the costs for purchasing the needed equipment for the various field events and a contingency fund for a future resurfacing of the track.

DePaul Track & Field has a convenient facility for outdoor practice and competition for the first time in five decades. Just a short jog from the Lincoln Park campus, It will be a place for our student-athletes to call home. The facility will be a dramatic improvement for our current student-athletes. The stadium features dedicated spaces for cages, pits and other amenities needed to compete in all the NCAA sponsored events including javelin, and steeplechase.

The track enhances recruiting and allows DePaul and head coach Dave Dopek to host outdoor meets in the upcoming years.
