Position:
Director of Strength and Conditioning

Mac Calloway joined the DePaul athletics staff in April 2010 as men's basketball strength and conditioning coach. Following the departure of the director of strength and conditioning in July, he was promoted to the director position to oversee the strength and conditioning department for all 15 programs.

He will continue to focus on the men's basketball program making DePaul one of just two BIG EAST men's basketball programs with a strength and conditioning coach that primarily works with men's basketball. The Blue Demons and Louisville Cardinals are the only BIG EAST programs to feature a basketball-specific strength and conditioning coach.

Prior to DePaul, Calloway worked as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Miami (Fla.) since 2005. With the Hurricanes, he handled strength and conditioning duties along with pre-season, in-season and off-season programs with the men's basketball, women's volleyball and men's tennis teams.

Calloway and DePaul men's basketball coach Oliver Purnell worked together for two seasons at Dayton and Clemson. Calloway was the basketball strength and conditioning coach at Dayton during the 2002-03 season and joined Purnell at Clemson for the 2003-04 campaign.

Prior to Dayton, Calloway worked with the Orlando Magic of the NBA and the Orlando Miracle of the WNBA from 2000-02 and conducted and assisted with testing at the NBA Pre-Draft Combine from 2004-08.

He also led a renovation of the DePaul weight room in the summer of 2010 that included flooring and equipment upgrades that featuring state-of-the-art Keiser lifting equipment. Keiser equipment features air resistance and cutting-edge technology that not only trains the student-athletes, but also monitors their progress.
