NEWARK, N.J. – DePaul dropped a BIG EAST road game Saturday evening by an 86-69 score at Seton Hall. Brandon Young led DePaul with 23 points as the Blue Demons dropped their third straight game.

Down three starters to an illness, injury and suspension, the Blue Demons struggled early to score and contain Seton Hall’s Fuquan Edwin. Edwin finished the first half with 22 points to lead the Pirates to a 45-25 advantage at intermission.

Seton Hall (12-8, 3-4 BIG EAST) was able to extend its lead to as much as 27 points in the second half and finished the game with a final score of 86-69.

R.J. Curington scored a career-high 15 points off the bench and Durrell McDonald added 14 points for the Blue Demons. Seton Hall was led by 30 points from Edwin.

Up next for DePaul (10-11, 2-6 BIG EAST) is a Feb. 1 home game against Providence. The Blue Demons and Friars are scheduled for a Noon start at Allstate Arena.

Notes: Brandon Young scored in double-figures for the 90th time in his career... the game was also his 26th career game of 20 or more points... Billy Garrett Jr. (illness), Charles McKinney (injury) and Cleveland Melvin (suspension team rules violation) did not play in the game... DePaul used its seventh different starting lineup of the season... Edwind McGhee made his first career start... Durrell McDonald started for the first time this season (10th career)... Seton Hall leads the series by a 10-3 margin... the Blue Demons have dropped three straight for the second time this season.
