DePaul is 7-4 and has won four straight after beating then No. 10 Missouri 63-62 on Saturday at the United Center. Tulane is 8-3 after losing 101-67 to No. 6 Kentucky in Louisville on Wednesday. This is the Conference USA opener for both teams.
DePaul recieved one vote in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 poll and are not mentioned in the Associated Press poll. Tulane is not mentioned in either poll.
DePaul leads the all-time series 4-3. The Green Wave won the first three games of the series but DePaul has bounced back to take the next four. The Blue Demons won the last meeting, 84-44 in New Orleans. Last season's 40-point win was DePaul's largest margin of victory ever in a conference game.
DePaul’s Pat Kennedy is in his 22nd season as a head coach and his fifth with the Blue Demons. He has a 391-261 career record, including a 65-70 slate with the Blue Demons. Pat, who entered the season ranked 30th among active coaches, is 9-2 against the Green Wave. Shawn Finney is in his second season as a head coach. He is 17-24 and 0-1 against DePaul.
Today's game will be shown on Fox Sports Chicago with Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Norm Van Lier (color commentary) handling the broadcast duties.
