CHICAGO - Holding a 3-0 record in true road games this season, DePaul heads east for a two-game trip with games at Providence and Connecticut. DePaul begins the five-day trip with a Saturday night game at Providence. The Blue Demons and Friars are scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET start at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Saturday's game features two teams looking for their first conference win after each dropped its opener on Wednesday night. DePaul came up short in a 73-72 loss against Seton Hall while Providence dropped an 80-62 decision at No. 4 Louisville.

The game will be televised in Chicago on The U Too (WCIU-DT2) as part of the BIG EAST Network with Don Orsillo (play-by-play), Ron Perry (analyst) and Vin Parise (sideline) handling the television duties. The broadcast is also available online on ESPN3. DePaul stands at 9-5 following the one-point loss to Seton Hall while Providence holds an 8-5 record. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his third season at DePaul and his 25th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Providence's Ed Cooley is in his second season leading the Friars.

Following the Providence game, DePaul continues the road trip at Connecticut on Tuesday night. The Blue Demons play the Huskies on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on The U Too (BIG EAST Network) and heard on WSCR 670 AM.

Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,393-885 (.612) all-time... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 593 straight games... DePaul's last game without a three was Feb. 16, 1993 against UAB at Allstate Arena... the Blue Demons are 316-144 (.687) all-time at Allstate Arena... DePaul is 7-1 (.875) all-time in games at McGrath-Phillips Arena... in each of Oliver Purnell's three seasons at DePaul, the Blue Demons have faced three Chicagoland opponents during the non-conference portion of the schedule with an 8-1 record in those games... in the Purnell era, the Blue Demons are 14-3 (5-0 in 2012-13) when scoring 80 or more points... DePaul has used seven different starting lineups this season... Cleveland Melvin and Brandon Young have started every game this season... The Opponent - Providence Friars: Providence enters Saturday's game at 8-5 overall and 0-1 in BIG EAST play... the Friars opened the conference schedule Wednesday nighth with an 80-62 loss at fourth-ranked Louisville... the Friars have dropped three straight games after putting together a six-game winning streak... Bryce Cotton leads the team with 21.5 points per game, 36 three-pointers and 41 assists... LaDontae Henton adds 16.5 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game... Kadeem Batts also averages 16.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game... head coach Ed Cooley is in his second season leading the Providence program... DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is 1-1 all-time against the Friars.

The Series: Saturday is the 30th meeting between the two programs... Providence leads the series, 22-7... a year ago, the Friars posted a 73-71 win at Allstate Arena on Feb. 25... DePaul's last visit to the Dunkin' Donuts Center saw the Blue Demons post a 79-76 victory on Feb. 17, 2011... in BIG EAST play, the Friars have won seven of nine meetings... prior to DePaul joining the BIG EAST, the two programs played 20 times from 1961-79.

The Last Meeting: Providence held off DePaul, 73-71, on Feb. 25, 2012 at Allstate Arena... the Blue Demons led 37-35 at halftime... Providence put together a 19-4 run in the middle of the second half and led 71-64 on a LaDontae Henton jumper with 2:28 left... Jamee Crockett tied the game at 71-71 with two free throws with 33.5 seconds left... a Henton jumper on Providence's final possession sealed the two-point win... Henton led the Friars with 24 points and 15 rebounds... Bryce Cotton added 19 points... Moses Morgan led DePaul with 13 points off the bench... Cleveland Melvin added a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double... Donnavan Kirk grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked eight shots.

It Could Happen: A win gives DePaul its second straight 1-1 start in BIG EAST play and the fifth 1-1 or 2-0 start in the program's eight BIG EAST seasons... DePaul started conference play 1-1 in 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2011-12 and started 2-0 in 2007-08... the Blue Demons lost their first two BIG EAST games in 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11... Cleveland Melvin (1,155 pts.) needs seven points to pass Bernard Randolph (1979-83, 1,161 pts.) for 31st on DePaul's scoring list... with 16 points, he also passes Lance Williams (1998-02, 1,170 pts.) for 30th all-time... with one blocked shot he moves into a tie for 10th with Wilson Chandler (2005-07, 86 blocks)... Brandon Young needs three points to pass Gene Stump (1943-47, 1,071 pts.) for 44th and six points to pass Skip Dillard (1979-82, 1,074 pts.) for 43rd all-time.

Roadies: DePaul's 3-0 start in true road games is the best road beginning since a 5-0 road record to start the 1993-94 season... the three straight road wins mark the longest away streak since a five-game road winning streak in January 2004... including the trip to Cancun for a pair of neutral-site games, the Blue Demons have traveled 10,820 miles during the non-conference portion of the season for games at Cancun, Auburn, Chicago State and Arizona State.

Demon Doings: Notes following DePaul's 73-72 loss against Seton Hall on Jan. 2:
- The game was the 12th meeting all-time between the two schools... Seton Hall leads the series by a 9-3 margin.
- DePaul is 1-7 in BIG EAST season openers since joining the conference.
