STORRS, Conn. - DePaul wraps up its two-game road trip with a Tuesday night game at Connecticut. The Blue Demons opened the trip with an 83-73 win at Providence on Saturday and face the Huskies at 7 p.m. ET on Connecticut’s campus at Gampel Pavilion.

The Blue Demons are looking to put together back-to-back BIG EAST road wins for the first time since Jan. 6 and 13, 2007. DePaul defeated Villanova, 73-65, and Rutgers, 60-37, for the last back-to-back road conference victories. Connecticut is playing for the first time since an 82-76 overtime loss at Marquette on New Year’s Day.

The game will be televised in Chicago on The U Too (WCIU-DT2) as part of the BIG EAST Network with Bob Picozzi (play-by-play) and Kara Lawson (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul stands at 10-5 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST while Connecticut holds a 10-3 overall record and 0-1 mark in league play. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his third season at DePaul and his 25th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Connecticut’s Kevin Ollie is in his first season leading the Huskies.

Following the Connecticut game, DePaul returns to Allstate Arena for a Jan. 15 game against Cincinnati. The Bearcats are currently ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Start time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT and the game can be seen on The U Too (BIG EAST Network) and heard on WSCR 670 AM.

Noting the Blue Demons: The men’s basketball program is 1,394-885 (.612) all-time... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 594 straight games... DePaul’s last game without a three was Feb. 16, 1993 against UAB at Allstate Arena... the Blue Demons are 316-144 (.687) all-time at Allstate Arena... DePaul is 7-1 (.875) all-time in games at McGrath-Phillips Arena... in each of Oliver Purnell’s three seasons at DePaul, the Blue Demons have faced three Chicagoland opponents during the non-conference portion of the schedule with an 8-1 record in those games... in the Purnell era, the Blue Demons are 15-3 (6-0 in 2012-13) when scoring 80 or more points... The Opponent - Connecticut Huskies: Connecticut enters Tuesday’s game at 10-3 overall and 0-1 in BIG EAST play... the Huskies are playing for the first time since an 83-76 overtime loss at Marquette on New Year’s Day... four players average in double-figures led by Shabazz Napier’s 17.5 points per game... he is followed by Ryan Boatright (15.8 ppg), Omar Calhoun (10.8 ppg) and DeAndre Daniels (10.1 ppg)... Napier leads the team with 27 three-pointers and 4.2 rebounds per game while Boatright has a team-high 61 assists... head coach Kevin Ollie is in his first season leading the Connecticut program... DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is 1-4 all-time against the Huskies.

The Series: Tuesday is the 10th meeting between the two programs... Connecticut has won eight of the previous nine meetings including seven straight... the Huskies have defeated DePaul in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship in each of the last two seasons... a year ago, Connecticut posted an 80-54 win at Gampel Pavilion on Feb. 15... the first round of the 2012 BIG EAST Championship saw the Huskies knock off DePaul, 81-67, on March 6 at Madison Square Garden... the Huskies are one of four BIG EAST opponents DePaul faces twice this season... Connecticut makes the return trip on Feb. 23 to Allstate Arena... this marks the third straight season the two teams face off more than once.

The Last Meeting: Connecticut took a 13-point advantage into halftime in an 81-67 win over DePaul on March 6, 2012... the game was in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship... Jeremy Lamb led Connecticut with 25 points and Ryan Boatright added 19 off the bench... Cleveland Melvin and Moses Morgan each scored 19 for DePaul.

It Could Happen: A win gives DePaul back-to-back BIG EAST road victories for the first time since January 2007... DePaul posted road wins at Villanova (73-65, Jan. 6) and Rutgers (60-37, Jan. 13)... a win would make DePaul 2-1 to start BIG EAST play for the second time (last 2007-08)... a win would also give DePaul back-to-back BIG EAST wins for the first time since the start of the 2007-08 conference schedule... the Blue Demons started that league slate with an 84-76 win against Villanova and a 70-65 decision against Providence... Cleveland Melvin needs one blocked shot to move into a tie for 10th with Wilson Chandler (2005-07, 86 blocks).

Roadies: DePaul’s 4-0 start in true road games is the best road beginning since a 5-0 road record to start the 1993-94 season... the four straight road wins mark the longest away streak since a five-game road winning streak in January 2004... including the trip to Cancun for a pair of neutral-site games, the Blue Demons traveled 10,820 miles during the non-conference portion of the season for games at Cancun, Auburn, Chicago State and Arizona State.

Demon Doings: Notes following DePaul’s 83-73 win at Providence on Jan. 5:
- Saturday was the 30th all-time meeting between the two programs... Providence leads the series, 22-8... DePaul has won the last two meetings at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
- The Blue Demons are 1-1 to start BIG EAST play for the second straight year... it’s the fifth time in eight BIG EAST seasons that DePaul is either 1-1 or 2-0 after the first two conference games.
- DePaul is 4-0 in true road games this season... it’s the best start on the road since going 5-0 to open the 1993-94 season... the four-game road winning streak is the longest since a five-game away streak in January 2004.
- Under Oliver Purnell, DePaul is 15-3 when scoring at least 80 points... in 2012-13 the Blue Demons are 6-0 with 80 or more points.
- Cleveland Melvin moved into 30th on DePaul’s all-time scoring list and Brandon Young moved into 42nd.

Who’s Next: The Blue Demons have a week off until a Jan. 15 game against Cincinnati at Allstate Arena... the Bearcats currently hold a 15-2 overall record and 1-1 mark in the BIG EAST...
