Blue Demons Hit The Road To Visit Ninth-Ranked Louisville

DePaul is 10-4 overall and 2-1 in Conference USA after beating East Carolina 55-42 on Sunday at the Allstate Arena. Louisville is 12-1 overall and 4-0 in C-USA after stopping TCU 87-74 on Saturday in Louisville. The Cardinals have won 11 straight.


Louisville is ranked ninth in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and 14th in the ESPN/USA Today poll. DePaul is not mentioned in either poll.


Louisville leads series 27-19. The Cardinals are 12-0 against the Blue Demons in Conference USA games. DePaul's last win over Louisville came on Tom Kleinschmidt's four-point play with under 10 seconds remaining on February 25, 1995. The Blue Demons have not won at Freedom Hall since December 13, 1975 (78-76). Last season Louisville beat the Blue Demons 97-67 on January 26, 2002 at Freedom Hall and 76-72 on February 12, 2002 at the Allstate Arena.


DePaul's Dave Leitao is in his first season with the Blue Demons and is 10-4. Leitao is 32-39 in three seasons as a head coach and has never faced Louisville. Rick Pitino is in his 17th season as a head coach and his second at Louisville. He is 383-138 overall and 31-14 with the Cardinals. Pitino is 2-0 against DePaul.
