CHICAGO - DePaul meets Notre Dame for the 103rd game of the series between the two programs on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Demons and Fighting Irish are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at Allstate Arena with the Irish holding a 58-44 advantage in the series.
The Blue Demons are playing the second game of a seven-day, three-game stretch that opened with a 79-74 overtime loss at St. John’s on Wednesday. Villanova closes the week with a visit to Rosemont on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Saturday’s game will be televised on ESPN2 at 1 p.m. with Lou Canellis (play-by-play) and LaPhonso Ellis (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul stands at 10-10 overall and 1-6 in the BIG EAST while Notre Dame has won three of its last four and holds a 17-4 overall record and 5-3 mark in league play. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his third season at DePaul and his 25th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Notre Dame’s Mike Brey is in his 13th season leading the Irish.
Following the Notre Dame game, DePaul hosts Villanova on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Allstate Arena. The 6 p.m. game can be seen on ESPN2 and heard on WSCR 670 AM.
