CHICAGO - The Blue Demons face their second straight ranked opponent when No. 6/6 Villanova visits Allstate Arena on Wednesday night. The meeting is the second this season between the two schools with the Wildcats taking the first matchup on Jan. 18 at The Pavilion. Start time in Rosemont between the Blue Demons and Wildcats is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Wednesday's game will be televised on FOX Sports 1 with Dick Stockton (play-by-play) and Kevin O'Neill (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul enters the game at 10-14 overall and 2-9 in conference play after a 78-66 loss at 12th-ranked Creighton on Friday night. That loss extended DePaul's streak to a season-high six straight defeats. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his fourth season at DePaul and his 26th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Villanova - ranked No. 6 in both of this week's national polls - is 21-2 overall and 9-1 in the BIG EAST which puts the Wildcats on top of the league standings. Villanova coach Jay Wright is in his 13th season leading the Wildcats. Villanova won the first meeting of the season between the two sides by an 88-62 score on Jan. 18 just outside of Philadelphia at The Pavilion.

Following the Villanova game, DePaul travels to Providence on Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The 2 p.m. ET game can be seen on FOX Sports Networks and heard on WSCR 670 AM.

Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,405-915 (.606) all-time... the 80-71 win at Milwaukee on Nov. 19 was game No. 2,300 in program history since the first fully-recognized season in 1923-24... men's basketball was played at DePaul prior to that season but records are incomplete... the 81-70 win over Florida Atlantic on Dec. 12 was win No. 1,400 since start of 1923-24 season... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 635 straight games... DePaul's last game without a three was Feb. 16, 1993 against UAB at Allstate Arena... the Blue Demons are 323-157 (.673) all-time at Allstate Arena... James Bell leads three players in double-figures with 16.0 points per game and 65 three-pointers... JayVaughn Pinkston adds 14.9 points and 5.7 rebounds while Darrun Hilliard has a 13.5 scoring average... as a team the Wildcats average nine three's and 16.5 assists per game... head coach Jay Wright is in his 13th season leading the Wildcats... The Series: Wednesday is the 26th all-time meeting between the two programs... the Wildcats hold an 17-8 advantage in the series... Villanova Pushes Past DePaul in Second Half
A barrage of second half three-pointers by sixth-ranked Villanova led the Wildcats to an 88-62 win over visiting DePaul. The Blue Demons put five players in double-figures but it wasn't enough at The Pavilion on Saturday.

The Last Meeting: A barrage of second half three-pointers by sixth-ranked Villanova led the Wildcats to an 88-62 win over visiting DePaul on Jan. 18 at The Pavilion... the Blue Demons put five players in double-figures led by 13 from Brandon Young... after taking a 33-24 lead at halftime, Villanova made six three's over a five-minute stretch to open up a 75-52 advantage in the second half... Billy Garrett Jr. added 11 points... Tommy Hamilton IV, Charles McKinney and Cleveland Melvin each added 10 points... the five starters combined for 54 of the 62 points for the Blue Demons... Villanova was led by James Bell with 17 points while Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu added 14 points each.


It Could Happen: A win snaps DePaul's season-high six-game losing streak... Brandon Young (119 3pt. FG) needs three three's to move from a tie for 10th place to eighth all-time in career three-point field goals... Young enters the Villanova game tied with Joe Tulley (119 3pt.
