DePaul Travels to Xavier on Wednesday Night

CINCINNATI, Ohio - DePaul concludes a two-game road trip on Wednesday night at Xavier. The Blue Demons and Musketeers are scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET start the Cintas Center. The meeting is the second this season between the two schools with the Musketeers taking the first matchup on Jan. 20 at Allstate Arena.
Wednesday's game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with Brad Johansen (play-by-play) and Steve Wolf (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul enters the game at 10-16 overall and 2-11 in conference play after an 84-61 loss at Providence on Saturday afternoon. That loss extended DePaul's streak to a season-high eight straight defeats. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his fourth season at DePaul and his 26th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Xavier is 17-8 overall and 7-5 in the BIG EAST and have won two of its last three games. Xavier coach Chris Mack is in his fifth season leading the Musketeers. Xavier won the first meeting of the season between the two sides by an 84-74 score on Jan. 20 at Allstate Arena.
Following the Xavier game, DePaul hosts Marquette on Saturday afternoon. The 114th meeting between the two schools is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at Allstate Arena. Including the Marquette, DePaul plays three of its final four regular-season games at Allstate Arena.
Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,405-917 (.605) all-time... the 80-71 win at Milwaukee on Nov. 19 was game No. 2,300 in program history since the first fully-recognized season in 1923-24... men's basketball was played at DePaul prior to that season but records are incomplete... the 81-70 win over Florida Atlantic on Dec. 12 was win No. 1,400 since start of 1923-24 season... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 637 straight games... Garrett matched Melvin's total with his most recent recognition on Jan. 20. The Chicago native also earned the honor on Dec. 2, 16 and 30.
Since the start of the 2008-09 season, no BIG EAST team has produced three different Rookie of the Week winners.
