DePaul Inks Raymond Doby and Darrick Wood to NLI's

CHICAGO – DePaul coach Oliver Purnell added two more signees for next season as Raymond Doby and Darrick Wood each signed a National Letter of Intent. Doby, a Cahokia, Illinois native, and Wood, from Alexandria, Virginia, both arrive in Lincoln Park starting next season.
Doby averaged 10.7 points per game at Montrose Christian Academy last season. Montrose Christian, located in Rockville, Maryland, finished the season with a 20-5 record. Doby posted 11 games in double-figures and helped the Mustangs knock off Findlay Prep with the game-winning bucket at the buzzer. He also played on the AAU circuit for the Mac Irvin Fire with current Blue Demons Billy Garrett Jr. and Tommy Hamilton IV. The 6'7" forward played at Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis prior to his final prep season at Montrose Christian.
Wood played last season at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas where he averaged 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Wood scored at least 20 points in six games last season and averaged 18.1 points per game over his last eight games. He was the third-leading scorer for the Blue Dragons and shot .434 from the field and .802 from the free throw line. Hutchinson finished the season with a 26-8 record.
The 6'5" shooting guard will have three seasons of eligibility at DePaul after playing just one season at Hutchinson CC. Prior to Hutchinson CC, Wood played a prep season at Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine.
The current National Letter of Intent signing period started April 16 and runs through May 21, 2014.
