BIG EAST Announces Home and Road Opponents for 2009-10
CHICAGO The BIG EAST Conference announced the home and away opponents for the 2009-10 men’s basketball season on Thursday with the Blue Demons facing Marquette, Rutgers and St. John’s twice next season. Each team faces three opponents twice with the remaining 12 conference games split with six home games and six away contests.
In addition to hosting Marquette, Rutgers and St. John’s, DePaul welcomes Georgetown, Louisville, Providence, USF, Syracuse and West Virginia to Allstate Arena. The road league schedule features the three return trips to face the Golden Eagles, Scarlet Knights and Red Storm along with visits to Cincinnati, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall and Villanova.
DePaul is facing Marquette twice for the second straight season and the third time in five BIG EAST seasons. A year ago, the Golden Eagles swept the season series with wins at the Bradley Center and Allstate Arena. St. John’s and DePaul also played the home-and-home series during the 2006-07 season while Rutgers is a two-time league opponent for the first time.
