Koshwal and Tucker Open NBA Summer League in Las Vegas

CHICAGO – Former DePaul basketball players Mac Koshwal and Dar Tucker open up NBA Summer League play this weekend in Las Vegas with Koshwal playing for New Orleans and Tucker on the Golden State roster. The Las Vegas Summer League features 22 NBA teams and a D-League Select team with games played at UNLV’s Cox Pavilion and the Thomas and Mack Center. Each team plays five games from July 13-22. Koshwal makes his second appearance in the NBA Summer League after playing in five games for Detroit in 2010. Koshwal averaged 5.4 points and 7.2 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per outing for the Pistons with his best effort of the week in 2010 against Sacramento with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double. In each of his four other games, he grabbed six rebounds in each of his four other games and followed the double-double against the Kings with a nine-point, six-rebound effort against Golden State. New Orleans starts summer league play on July 15 against Portland and concludes the week against Tucker and Golden State on July 21. Koshwal most recently played for CB Canarias in Spain during the 2010-11 season. Koshwal totaled 1,019 points and 750 rebounds in his three seasons (2007-10) in Lincoln Park. He became the 46th player in school history with 1,000 career points against St. John’s on Mar. 5, 2010 and is ranked 11th at DePaul on the career rebounds list. Koshwal finished with 58 games in double-figures and 27 double-doubles over his 81-game career and averaged a double-double of 16.1 points and 10.1 rebounds during his junior season. Tucker and the Warriors open the action on July 13 against Los Angeles before playing against Denver, Miami, Chicago and New Orleans. Tucker played in France last season for Aix Maurienne Savoie and has also played for Los Angeles, New Mexico and Texas in two NBA D-League seasons. At DePaul, Tucker averaged 16.2 points in 61 career games from 2007-09. His 986 points are 49th in program history and his 592 points scored during his sophomore season are among the top 10 season totals in the DePaul record book.
