CHICAGO - Eleven games within a two-hour drive of Chicago including eight home games highlight the 2013-14 men's basketball non-conference schedule. Seven home games are scheduled for Allstate Arena, one at McGrath-Phillips Arena and three road games within a two-hour drive of DePaul's Lincoln Park campus.
After a Nov. 1 exhibition game against Lewis University, the Blue Demons open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 9 against Grambling State. Both games will be played at McGrath-Phillips Arena on the Lincoln Park campus. DePaul is starting the season in Lincoln Park for the fourth straight year and the Blue Demons are 7-1 all-time in games at the facility.
The CBE Hall of Fame Classic features two home games for DePaul at Allstate Arena and two games in Kansas City, Mo. The Blue Demons host two games against opponents to be determined. Tournament organizers will announce the games once they are finalized.
The championship round of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic has the Blue Demons taking on Wichita State at Sprint Center in Kansas City. DePaul and Wichita State are scheduled for a 9 p.m. start on Monday, Nov. 25 and the game can be seen on ESPN3. On Tuesday, Nov. 26, the consolation game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU, followed by the 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic championship game at 9 p.m. on ESPN2. DePaul faces either BYU or Texas on Nov. 26.

Prior to traveling to Kansas City, DePaul takes a short trip to north to face the Milwaukee Panthers on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The game is the first of two trips to Milwaukee for DePaul as the Blue Demons also face Marquette during BIG EAST Conference action.
Oregon State opens the month of December and a five-game homestand for the Blue Demons on Sunday, Dec. 1. The game is just the second meeting between the two programs since a 59-40 win for DePaul on Dec. 21, 1945 at Chicago Stadium.
Arizona State serves as the second straight opponent from the Pac-12 Conference for a Friday, Dec. 6 game in Rosemont. A year ago, the Blue Demons traveled to Tempe and came away with a 78-61 victory over the Sun Devils.
Prior to the holiday break, DePaul plays three games in seven days with Florida Atlantic (Dec. 12), Chicago State (Dec. 15) and Houston Baptist (Dec. 18) all visiting Allstate Arena.
The non-conference schedule finishes up with two in-state road games at Illinois State and Northwestern. DePaul travels to Illinois State on Sunday, Dec. 22 before the non-conference conclusion on Friday, Dec. 27 against Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. The Blue Demons lead the all-time series with the Redbirds by a 21-3 margin and have won 19 of 29 meetings against the Wildcats.
DePaul returns its top three scorers in seniors-to-be Cleveland Melvin and Brandon Young and rising junior Jamee Crockett. Young averaged a team-high 16.7 points per game last season and became the only player in program history with at least 1,200 points, 400 assists and 100 three-pointers. Melvin enters his senior season ranked 12th on DePaul's all-time scoring list with 1,458 points after averaging 16.6 points per game as a junior. Crockett averaged 8.7 points and 3.6 rebounds during his sophomore campaign.
In BIG EAST play, the home conference schedule includes all nine league opponents with Butler, Creighton, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, Villanova and Xavier playing at Allstate Arena. DePaul will also travel to each school for 18 regular-season conference games.
