Coaches' Caravan Schedule Announced for August
Aug. 13, 2012
CHICAGO – The third summer of DePaul basketball takes place in August with the Coaches' Caravan making stops around Chicagoland. Headlined by basketball coaches Oliver Purnell and Doug Bruno, the caravan gives fans and supporters three opportunities to meet the Blue Demons and talk DePaul hoops.
The first stop takes DePaul to Maggiano’s in Oak Brook on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 6:30-8 p.m. DePaul fans get their first chance in Oak Brook to hear from women’s coach Doug Bruno following his trip to the Olympics. Bruno was an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team that won the gold medal in London. In addition to the coaches at each event, DePaul basketball players from both the men's and women's programs will be in attendance.
The second stop is at Lizzie McNeill's in the Chicago River North neighborhood on Friday, Aug. 24. The caravan stop kicks off DePaul basketball's Alumni Weekend with men’s and women’s hoops alums converging on Lizzie McNeill's to join Purnell and Bruno from 5:30-7 p.m.
Following Lizzie McNeill's, the Coaches' Caravan concludes in Rosemont at the Ram Brewery. The final stop takes place on Monday, Aug. 27 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Each event on the three-stop tour costs $20 per person and the cost for kids (13 and under) is $10 at each caravan stop. A cash bar will also be available at each event.
