Cleveland Melvin leads the way to third victory on trip with 24 points, 15 rebounds

GOLFE-JUAN, France – Cleveland Melvin continued his impressive play in France with a 24-point, 15-rebound double-double to lead DePaul to an 83-74 win over a team from Golfe-Juan on Friday. The win was the third in three games for the Blue Demons with the final game of the tour scheduled for Saturday in Monaco.
In three games, Melvin is averaging 24.7 points and 12.0 rebounds. He opened the trip with 25 points, eight rebounds in the first game followed by 25 points and 13 boards in the second game. On Friday, the 2011 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year went 11-for-21 from the field and added four steals and three blocked shots.
DePaul led 27-22 after one quarter and 54-35 at halftime. As a team, the Blue Demons shot .434 (33-76) from the field while totaling 18 steals, eight blocked shots and 53 rebounds (23 offensive).
Brandon Young, Tony Freeland and Jeremiah Kelly each reached double-figures. Young scored 18 points with four assists and Freeland added 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Kelly rounded out the double-figure scoring with 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Krys Faber also totaled seven rebounds and Montray Clemons scored six points with five boards.
The Blue Demons conclude their trip to France on Saturday with an afternoon game in Monaco before leaving early Sunday for the flight back to Chicago.
