MONACO - Playing back-to-back days on the end of a 10-day excursion, the DePaul Blue Demons knocked off Monaco, 80-70, to conclude the trip with a perfect 4-0 record. Cleveland Melvin and Jeremiah Kelly each scored 21 points to lead the Blue Demons on Saturday.
DePaul started slow and was tied at 19-19 following the first quarter before opening up a 45-31 advantage at halftime. Monaco cut the deficit to seven at the end of the third quarter before the Blue Demons extended the lead to the final 10-point margin. The Blue Demons combined to shoot .544 (25-46) from the field with 14 assists on the 25 field goals.
Melvin added eight rebounds, four blocked shots, two steals and two assists to his 21 points while Kelly finished with six boards, five assists and three steals to complete his stat line with 21 points. Moses Morgan added 12 points and Charles McKinney scored seven with five assists and three steals.
Krys Faber pulled down a team-high nine rebounds with four points and Montray Clemons added seven boards and three points.
DePaul finishes the trip with a 4-0 record and returns to Chicago on Sunday. The Blue Demons started the trip after landing in Paris on Aug. 12.
