CHICAGO - The BIG EAST Conference unveiled today the 2013-14 schedule and television information that starts with an impressive New Year’s Eve lineup featuring all 10 teams. The Blue Demons face each league opponent twice during the conference portion of the season and open at Georgetown on Dec. 31.

The Blue Demons are scheduled for conference and non-conference games this season on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Networks and CBS Sports Network. In addition to the conference schedule announcement, six non-conference games were added to the television slate on either FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports 2 starting with the season-opening game against Grambling State on Nov. 9. Those non-conference telecasts join two games of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic on ESPN networks.

As part of the BIG EAST’s landmark partnership with FOX Sports, every BIG EAST conference game will be televised on national and regional networks, with the majority to air on FOX Sports 1, which began broadcasting to approximately 90 million homes across the country on August 17.

DePaul plays its first two and three of its first four conference games on the road with a Jan. 4 game at Marquette to follow the New Year’s Eve opener at Georgetown. The conference home opener features Creighton on Tuesday, Jan. 7 before a quick turnaround and trip to Butler on Jan. 9. DePaul is playing Creighton for the first time since the 2008-09 season and Butler for the first time since the 1980-81 campaign.

The Blue Demons close January and start February with four of six games at Allstate Arena. St. John’s makes the trip to Rosemont on Jan. 14 followed by a game at Villanova on Jan. 18.

Two days later, DePaul hosts Xavier for a Monday afternoon contest on Martin Luther King Jr., Day and then travel to Seton Hall for the final game of January on the 25th. The Xavier matchup is the first between the two programs since the 1997-98 season.

The start of February features two games in three days against Providence and Georgetown. The Friars visit on Feb. 1 followed by the Hoyas on Feb. 3.

DePaul makes the return trip to Creighton on Friday, Feb. 7 and host Villanova on Feb. 12. Back-to-back road games at Providence (Feb . 15) and Xavier (Feb. 19) precede a two-game homestand against Marquette (Feb. 22) and Seton Hall (Feb. 25).

The regular-season schedule concludes with a trip to St. John’s on Sunday, March 2 before the home finale on Thursday, March 6 against Butler.

The 2014 BIG EAST Championship is scheduled for March 12-15 at Madison Square Garden with every game televised on FOX Sports 1.
