Andre Brown Selected To Conference USA All-Preseason Team

CHICAGO – DePaul’s Andre Brown was named to the Conference USA All-Preseason team in a vote of league coaches it was announced today.

The Blue Demons as a team were picked to finish seventh as per the league coaches vote.

Brown is making his second straight appearance on the league's preseason all-conference team. The 6-9 forward/center helped the Blue Demons to the NIT, their first postseason appearance since 2000, and a 16-13 record last season. Brown was DePaul's top rebounder, averaging 9.0 per contest, while ranking fourth on the team in scoring (9.4). He has a chance to become the first Blue Demon to lead the team in rebounding since Tyrone Corbin accomplished the feat from 1983-85.

Brown was joined on the team by Louisville’s Francisco Garcia (who was tabbed as the preseason Player of the Year), Marquette’s Travis Diener, UAB’s Morris Finley and Cincinnati’s Jason Maxiell.

Louisville, which finished with a 25-7 overall record and an 11-5 league mark a year ago, was picked to win the league title.

DePaul opens the exhibition season on November 6 when the Illinois All-Stars come to the DePaul Athletic Center at 7:30 p.m. The regular season opens on November 21 against Loyola-Chicago at the Allstate Arena.
