Blue Demons Pitch a Complete Game in 84-50 Victory Over Milwaukee
DePaul won its fourth straight game with a decisive 84-50 victory over visiting Milwaukee on Sunday at Allstate Arena.

CHICAGO - DePaul hits the road for the first time this season as the Blue Demons play at Milwaukee on Tuesday night. Start time between the Blue Demons and Panthers is scheduled for 7 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Tuesday's game will be televised on Time Warner Sports Wisconsin with Daron Sutton (play-by-play) and Adrian Tigert (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul enters the game at 2-1 after an 81-72 win over Wright State on Saturday at Allstate Arena. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his fourth season at DePaul and his 26th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Milwaukee is 4-1 overall and is led by Rob Jeter who is in his ninth season leading the Panthers. DePaul holds an 11-1 advantage in the series with Tuesday's game serving as the first meeting on Milwaukee's home floor.

Following the Milwaukee game, DePaul travels to Kansas City for the final two games of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The Blue Demons face No. 14/16 Wichita State on Monday, Nov. 25 and either BYU or Texas on Tuesday, Nov. 26. DePaul opened the event with two home games against Southern Miss and Wright State last week. The Blue Demons dropped a 75-68 decision to Southern Miss last Wednesday before the win over Wright State.

Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,397-902 (.608) all-time... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 614 straight games... DePaul's last game without a three was Feb. 16, 1993 against UAB at Allstate Arena... the Blue Demons are 318-152 (.677) all-time at Allstate Arena... DePaul is 8-1 (.889) all-time in games at McGrath-Phillips Arena... in each of Oliver Purnell's three full seasons at DePaul, the Blue Demons have faced three Chicagoland opponents during the non-conference portion of the schedule with an 8-1 record in those games... the 2013-14 schedule features local opponents Chicago State and Northwestern... in the Purnell era, the Blue Demons are 17-3 (6-0 in 2012-13/2-0 in 2013-14) when scoring 80 or more points... DePaul's 2013-14 roster includes nine players from the Chicagoland area.


The Opponent - Milwaukee Panthers: Milwaukee stands at 4-1 after sweeping three games in three days at the NIU Invitational over the weekend... the Panthers defeated San Jose State (64-61), James Madison (77-66) and host Northern Illinois (82-69)... Matt Tiby leads five players averaging in double-figures with 14.6 points per game and a team-high 8.8 rebounds per game... the Panthers were picked to finish ninth in the nine-team Horizon League preseason poll... DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is 3-1 all-time against Milwaukee.

The Series: Tuesday is the 13th meeting between the two programs... DePaul has won 11 of 12 games... all 12 previous contests have been on DePaul's home floor... the Blue Demons and Panthers are meeting for the fourth straight season... DePaul posted an 84-50 win on Dec. 9, 2012 that followed an 87-76 victory for Milwaukee on Dec. 5, 2011.

The Last Meeting: DePaul rolled to an 84-50 win over visiting Milwaukee on Dec. 9, 2012... Donnavan Kirk led four in double-figures with 14 points... Jamee Crockett and Brandon Young each added 13 and Cleveland Melvin scored 11 points... the Blue Demons led, 45-27, at halftime and held the Panthers to just a .258 team field goal percentage for the game.

Against the Horizon League: DePaul is 68-19 all-time against the current membership of the Horizon League... the Blue Demons have faced Detroit 36 times and hold a 29-7 record against the Titans... DePaul is also 16-6 against Valparaiso, 11-1 against Milwaukee, 5-3 against Green Bay and 4-1 against UIC.


It Could Happen: Tuesday's game will be No. 2,300 for DePaul since the start of the first full recognized season in 1923-24... men's basketball was played at DePaul prior to that season but records are incomplete... Cleveland Melvin (1,514 pts.) needs 21 points to pass Terry Davis (1,534 pts., 1989-93) for eighth place on the all-time scoring list... Melvin needs one rebound for 600 career rebounds... with six field goals, Melvin (618 FG) moves into fifth place all-time... Davis is currently fifth with 623 career field goals... Brandon Young needs two field goals for 500 in his career... with 27 points, Young (1,422 pts.) would pass Rod Strickland (1,448 pts., 1985-88) for 13th all-time in scoring.

Demon Doings: Notes following DePaul's 81-72 win against Wright State on Nov. 16:
- Cleveland Melvin moved past Sammy Mejia (1,494 points) for ninth-place all-time on the DePaul scoring list and finished the game with 1,513 career points... it was his 15th career double-double and 26th game with 20 points or more... Melvin also passed Mejia for 26th all-time on the school's rebound chart.
- DePaul improved to 68-19 all-time against the Horizon League.
- The game was the first meeting between Wright State and DePaul.
- DePaul made its most free throws (28) since knocking down 32 on Dec. 2, 2010 against Northern Illinois.
- The Blue Demons improved to 17-3 under Oliver Purnell when scoring 80-plus points.

Who's Next: DePaul travels to Kansas City for the final two games of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic... the Blue Demons face Wichita State in the first game on Monday, Nov. 25 at the Sprint Center... Monday's game marks the second straight year the two programs meet in a regular-season tournament... Wichita State defeated DePaul, 75-62, at the Cancun Challenge last November...
