DePaul Faces Wichita State in CBE Hall of Fame Classic

CHICAGO - DePaul faces its first ranked opponent of the season with a Monday night date against No. 14/16 Wichita State. The game is the second of a doubleheader in Kansas City at the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. BYU and Texas open the action at the Sprint Center followed by the Blue Demons and Shockers. Start time is scheduled for 9 p.m. in Kansas City.
Monday's game will be televised on ESPN3 with Mark Neely (play-by-play) and Sean Farnham (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul enters the game at 3-1 after an 80-71 win at Milwaukee on Tuesday at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his fourth season at DePaul and his 26th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Wichita State is 5-0 overall and is led by Gregg Marshall who is in his seventh season leading the Shockers. DePaul holds a 4-3 advantage in the series with Monday's game serving as the second straight regular-season tournament meeting following a Wichita State win over DePaul in Cancun last year.
Following the Wichita State game, DePaul plays Tuesday night against either BYU or Texas in the finale of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The two losers on Monday night play at 6:30 p.m. followed by the championship game at 9 p.m. DePaul opened the event with two home games against Southern Miss and Wright State. The Blue Demons dropped a 75-68 decision to Southern Miss on Nov. 13 before an 81-72 win over Wright State on Nov. 16.
