DePaul and Oregon State Face Off Sunday in Rosemont

CHICAGO - DePaul begins the final month of the 2013 calendar against Oregon State on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Demons and Beavers meet at 3 p.m. at Allstate Arena in the just the second all-time meeting between the two programs. DePaul is looking to snap a two-game skid after dropping both contests in Kansas City to No. 12 Wichita State and Texas at the CBE Hall of Fame Classic.

Sunday's game will be televised on FOX Sports 1 with Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul enters the game at 3-3 after the 77-59 loss against Texas on Nov. 26 in Kansas City. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his fourth season at DePaul and his 26th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Oregon State is 3-1 overall and is led by Craig Robinson who is in his sixth season leading the Beavers. DePaul won the only other meeting between the two sides with a 59-40 decision on Dec. 21, 1945.

Following the Oregon State game, DePaul hosts Arizona State on Friday, Dec. 6 at Allstate Arena. The Blue Demons and Sun Devils can be seen on FOX Sports 1 starting at 6 p.m. The game can also be heard on WIND 560 AM.

Demon Doings: Notes following DePaul's 77-59 loss against Texas on Nov. 26:
- DePaul was held to season lows in points (59), field goals (18), field goal percentage (.383) and rebounds (20).
- Cleveland Melvin scored in double-figures for the 80th time in his career... Melvin (633 FG) passed Tom Kleinschmidt (632 FG, 1991-95) for fourth on the all-time field goals list.
- Brandon Young played in his 100th career game... Young passed Howie Carl (1,461 pts., 1958-61) and Curtis Watkins (1,463 pts., 1975-79) on DePaul's all-time scoring list... Young finished the game with 1,471 points and is in 10th place on the scoring chart.
- Billy Garrett Jr. made his first career start... the line-up was the second different line-up of the season.
- Texas leads the series, 8-3, and DePaul is 31-39 all-time against the current line-up of Big 12 programs.

Locally Grown: The 2013-14 DePaul roster features eight players from the state of Illinois. In addition to the eight from Illinois, a total of nine players are from the Chicagoland area. The nine Chicagoland members on the roster include Jamee Crockett (Chicago, Ill.), R.J. Curington (Dyer, Ind.), Cory Dolins (Northbrook, Ill.), Billy Garrett Jr. (Chicago, Ill.), Tommy Hamilton IV (Chicago, Ill.), Myke Henry (Chicago, Ill.), DeJuan Marrero (Gary, Ind.), Charles McKinney (Evanston, Ill.) and Peter Ryckbosch (Chicago, Ill.). The eighth state of Illinois native is Champaign's Edwind McGhee.

Two Sign NLI's: DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell has signed two players to a National Letter of Intent to join the men's basketball program starting next season. Jon Davis from Washington D.C. and Chicago native Rashaun Stimage are set to join the program staring with the 2014-15 season. The two players join Myke Henry who is sitting out this season under NCAA transfer guidelines.

Davis is an athletic 6-2 scoring guard and is finishing up his prep career at Clinton Christian School this year. Last season he played at National Christian Academy and averaged 17 points per game. Davis had an outstanding summer while playing for the DC Assault AAU program.

Stimage is in his sophomore season at Daytona State College and was a Chicago Public League standout at Farragut Academy. He played his freshman season at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas and averaged 15 points and eight rebounds. The 6-8 athletic forward was an All-Area selection and ranked among the state's top players after averaging 20 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks during his senior season at Farragut.

Three Decades in Rosemont: DePaul is in its 34th season in 2013-14 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. The Blue Demons are 318-152 (.677) all-time in Rosemont. DePaul played its first season at the then-named Rosemont Horizon in 1980. The Blue Demons debuted in Rosemont with a 74-56 win over Gonzaga and John Stockton on Dec. 1, 1980.
