DePaul & Notre Dame Meet For the 90th Time On Saturday

DePaul is 4-0 after beating Ohio 73-65 on Tuesday at the Allstate Arena. Notre Dame is 8-1 after stopping then-second-ranked Texas 98-92 at the BB&T Classic in Washington, D.C.


Notre Dame is 10th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll and 15th in the USA Today poll. DePaul is not mentioned in either poll.


Notre Dame leads the series 48-41 and won the last meeting 82-55 at the United Center on December 1, 2001. DePaul had won four-straight prior to last season. This is the Blue Demons' first trip to South Bend since February 20, 1994 (a 73-63 DePaul win). The 89 games are the most DePaul has played against any non-conference opponent.


DePaul's Dave Leitao is in his first season with the Blue Demons and is 4-0. He is 26-35 in three seasons as a head coach and has never faced Notre Dame as a head coach. Mike Brey is in his third season at Notre Dame and his eighth as a head coach. He is 50-22 with the Fighting Irish and 149-74 overall. Brey is 1-0 against DePaul.


Today's game will be televised by WGN-TV with Dan Roan (play-by-play) and David Kaplan (color commentary) handling the broadcast duties.


WSCR (670 AM) will broadcast today's game with Ron Gleason (play-by-play) and former DePaul star Dave Corzine (color commentary) mikeside.
