Brandon Young Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

CHICAGO - DePaul junior guard Brandon Young was named to this week's BIG EAST Honor Roll after leading the Blue Demons to pair of wins against Arizona State and Northern Illinois. Young picks up his first weekly honor of this season.
Young averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds while shooting .542 (13-24) from the field and .750 (6-8) from the free throw line. The Baltimore native opened the week by leading the Blue Demons to a 17-point win at Arizona State before sealing a five-point victory over Northern Illinois.
Young totaled 18 points, nine assists and four rebounds at Arizona State and passed the 1,000-point milestone with his third basket of the game. While becoming the 48th player in school history with 1,000 points, he also became just the 11th player in program history with 1,000 points and 300 assists.
In the second game of the week, Young totaled 15 points, five assists and four boards and was named winner of the Jay Goedert Memorial Award as the most outstanding player of the DePaul-Northern Illinois game. He was also named the Goedert Award winner last season.
Louisville's Chane Behanan was named BIG EAST Player of the Week while Jakarr Sampson of St. John's was selected as the Rookie of the Week. Young was joined on the BIG EAST Honor Roll by Myles Mack of Rutgers, D'Angelo Harrison from St. John's, Seton Hall's Brandon Mobley and Syracuse's James Southerland.
