CHICAGO - DePaul plays its final home game of the non-conference schedule on Wednesday night against Houston Baptist. The game is also the third in a seven-day stretch for the Blue Demons as they have defeated Florida Atlantic and Chicago State. Start time for the Blue Demons and Huskies is 8 p.m. in Rosemont for the first meeting between the two programs.

DePaul enters the game at 6-4 after a 77-70 overtime win against Chicago State on Sunday. DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell is in his fourth season at DePaul and his 26th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Houston Baptist is 3-7 overall and is led by Ron Cottrell who is in his 23rd season leading the Huskies.
Following the Houston Baptist game, DePaul wraps up the non-conference portion of the schedule with road games at Illinois State and Northwestern. The Blue Demons play at Illinois State on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. before making the trip to Evanston on Dec. 27 for an 8 p.m. game against the Wildcats.

- DePaul played its first overtime game since Feb. 13, 2013 at Notre Dame... DePaul won its first overtime contest since a 68-66 win on Nov. 28, 2009 vs. Detroit, snapping an eight-game losing streak in overtime games... it was the Blue Demons’ first OT win in the Oliver Purnell era.
- The Blue Demons committed 23 turnovers, the team’s most since giving away 24 at UIC on Nov. 22, 2008.
- Durrell McDonald tied a career-high with two made three-pointers.
- Charles McKinney tied a career-high with four assists.
- Tommy Hamilton IV set a career-high with four blocks and finished with 10 rebounds for the second time in his career.

- In his 100th career game, Cleveland Melvin passed Dallas Comegys (1,613 pts., 1983-87) for seventh all-time on DePaul’s career scoring list (1,624 points)... Melvin’s double-double was the 16th of his career.
- With five assists, Young passed Terence Greene (449 assists, 1985-89) for fourth all-time in assists (450).
Trending: Four different players have recorded five double-doubles through 10 games this season... since the 2002-03 season, four teams have featured at least four players with a double-double... the 2003-04 squad had five (Andre Brown, Drake Diener, Quemont Greer, Delonte Holland, Sammy Mejia) with at least one double-double... DePaul has outrebounded its opponent in seven games with a 6-1 record in those games... the Blue Demons outrebounded the opponent in 12 games (8-4 record) in the entire 2012-13 season... Rookies of the Week: A DePaul freshman claimed the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week in two of the first three weeks of the season. Most recently, Billy Garrett Jr. earned the honor for a second time to give DePaul three Rookie of the Week honors over the first five weeks of the season. Tommy Hamilton IV was named the league’s first Rookie of the Week on Nov. 18 followed by Garrett on Dec. 2.
Hamilton averaged 12.3 points and 6.7 rebounds over DePaul’s first three games of the season. He opened his collegiate career with an impressive 16-point, 11-rebound double-double against Grambling State on Nov. 9. The Chicago native achieved the feat in the first half alone with 11 points and 10 boards against the Tigers.
Hamilton followed up the season-opening double-double with eight points and four rebounds against Southern Miss on Nov. 13 and 13 points with five boards against Wright State on Nov. 16. The 6-10 center also showcased his range with a three-pointer in each of the last two games.
Garrett picked up his first weekly honor after putting together his first double-double and averaging 10.7 points and 4.3 assists in three games against Wichita State, Texas and Oregon State.
He totaled 15 points and 10 assists in DePaul’s 93-81 win over Oregon State on Dec. 1. In just his second collegiate start, the Chicago native played 36 minutes with 10 assists to only a pair of turnovers while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Earlier in the week at the CBE Hall of Fame Classic, he scored 11 points in his first collegiate start against Texas and finished with six points against Wichita State. In his two starts, Garrett averaged 13 points and six assists while shooting .421 from the field.
Garrett was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins over Florida Atlantic and Chicago State. He opened the week with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists against Florida Atlantic while going 6-for-10 from the field.
The Chicago native scored eight of DePaul’s first 10 points in overtime to lead the Blue Demons to the seven-point win over Chicago State. He finished the game with 17 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists against the Cougars.
Who’s Next: DePaul travels to Illinois State on Sunday afternoon... the Blue Demons lead the series, 21-3... Sunday is the first meeting since a 75-50 win for Illinois State on Dec. 4, 1996.
