CHICAGO - DePaul hits the road for the first time in BIG EAST play at Xavier on Saturday. The No. 6/5 Musketeers are DePaul's second top six opponent of the week as the Blue Demons opened the league slate with a loss against No. 1/1 Villanova on Wednesday. Start time on Saturday is 2 p.m. ET at Cintas Center in Cincinnati.

Saturday's game will be televised on FS1 with Tim Brando (play-by-play) and Len Elmore (analyst) handling the television duties. Xavier - ranked No. 6 in this week's AP poll and No. 5 in the coaches top 25 - is 13-1 this season following a 91-87 win at Marquette on Wednesday to start BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons stand at 7-6 overall and 0-1 following the loss to Villanova. DePaul head coach Dave Leitao is in his sixth season at DePaul and his third since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2017-18 campaign is Leitao's 12th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Xavier is led by Chris Mack who is in his ninth season leading the Musketeers.

Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,444-993 (.593) all-time... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 752 straight games... DePaul's last game without a three was Feb. 16, 1993 against UAB at Allstate Arena... the current streak started against Notre Dame on Feb. 21, 1993... DePaul is playing every home game under the same roof for the first time since the 2009-10 season... the last seven seasons have seen the Blue Demons play home games at Allstate Arena and McGrath-Phillips Arena... DePaul is 40-42 all-time in games that go to overtime... the Oregon game on Nov. 24 was the first overtime game this season.

The Opponent - Xavier Musketeers: Xavier is 13-1 overall and 1-0 in the BIG EAST following a 91-87 win over Marquette on Wednesday... the Musketeers are ranked No. 6 in this week's AP top 25 and No. 5 in the coaches poll... Trevon Bluiett leads the team with 20.0 points per game and 42 three-pointers... J.P. Macura adds 12.4 points per game... Tyrique Jones adds 9.9 points and a team-best 5.9 rebounds per outing... head coach Chris Mack is in his ninth season leading the Musketeers... DePaul Falls to Xavier in BIG EAST First Round
A slow start coming out of halftime was too much to overcome as DePaul fell to Xavier, 75-64, in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament.

The Series: Saturday is the 21st all-time meeting between the two programs and the 10th since Xavier joined the BIG EAST... Xavier leads the series, 11-9, with wins in eight of the nine conference meetings... the two teams played three times last season with the Musketeers winning all three... Xavier won, 72-61, on Feb. 8 at Cintas Center before a 79-65 decision at Allstate Arena on March 4... the Musketeers also won the first round matchup of the BIG EAST Tournament by a score of 75-64 on March 8... DePaul's last win in the series was a 71-68 decision on Jan. 3, 2015 at Allstate Arena... the first meeting was on Jan. 16, 1939 with DePaul taking a 38-30 decision on its home floor.

Against Ranked Opponents: Xavier is DePaul's fourth ranked opponent of the season... the Blue Demons are 0-3 against ranked opponents this season that includes two games against top five opponents... DePaul opened the season with a 72-58 loss to No. 14/14... at the PK80 Invitational in Portland, DePaul was tied with No. 4/5 Michigan State at halftime before the Spartans pulled away in a 73-51 decision... the Blue Demons lost to No. 1/1 Villanova, 103-85, to start BIG EAST play on Dec. 27... DePaul's last win over a ranked opponent was a 77-70 victory against No. 11/11 Providence on Feb. 2, 2016 at Allstate Arena... the last road win over a ranked team was a 64-60 decision on Jan. 22, 2015 at No. 24/24 Seton Hall.

It Could Happen: Eli Cain needs 24 points to become the 50th player in program history with 1,000 career points... his 976 points are ranked 53rd in school history... Cain needs two three-pointers to pass Rashon Burno (1998-02, 92 3FG) for 21st on the all-time chart... a win will snap a 13-game losing streak against ranked opponents... DePaul's last win over a ranked opponent was a 77-70 win over No. 11/11 Providence on Feb. 2, 2016.

Demon Doings: Notes following DePaul's 103-85 loss against No. 1/1 Villanova on Dec. 27:
-  DePaul put five players in double figure for the third time this season... at least four have reached double figures in 10 of 13 games this season.
-  The 52 second-half points marked the first 50-point half of the season for the Blue Demons.
-  The Blue Demons are 3-21 all-time against the No. 1-ranked team... Villanova has been the last three No. 1-ranked opponents for DePaul.
Jaylen Butz matched his career high with 11 points.
Marin Maric's 17-point, 10-rebound double-double is his second at DePaul and 29th of his career.
Max Strus' 20 points marked the sixth time in last eight games he has scored at least 20 points.
-  Villanova leads the series, 25-8... the Wildcats have won 15 straight in the series..

Trendy: The Blue Demons have placed at least four players in double-figures in 10 of the first 13 games including three games with five in double-figures... a year ago, at least four scored in double-figures six times (32 games)... five different players have led DePaul in scoring this season... DePaul has committed less turnovers than the opponent in 12 of 13 games... only Villanova committed fewer miscues on Dec. 27... among the league's freshmen, only Jaylen Butz and Villanova's Omari Spellman are ranked in the top 30 rebounders... DePaul is second in the league with 12.6 offensive rebounds per game... the Blue Demons are third in the league with a +4.1 turnover margin and .340 offensive rebound percentage.

Game 15 - Jan. 2 vs. Georgetown: DePaul returns to Wintrust Arena for a Tuesday night BIG EAST game against Georgetown... the  Hoyas are 10-2 overall and 0-1 in BIG EAST play... Georgetown opened conference action with a 91-89 loss against Butler in double overtime on Dec. 27... Tuesday's contest is scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET start on FS1 and WSCR 670 AM... Georgetown leads the series, 29-8... the two sides split the season series a year ago with the road team winning each time... the Hoyas posted a 76-73 win on Jan. 31 at Allstate Arena... DePaul won at Capital One Arena, 67-65, on Feb. 22... Georgetown plays at Marquette ahead of Tuesday's game.
