Wexford Intercollegiate Results
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Led by Russell Budd’s 26th place finish the DePaul golf team took 11th place at the eighth-annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Golf Tournament.
With rain falling early, the teams completed the final five holes from the second round on Tuesday morning then capped off the day with a final 18 holes of the two-day tournament.
Budd, who entered the day in an 11-way tie for 24th place, finished the second round with a team-best, one-over 73 and shot a 76 in the final round. Budd finished +8 (224) for the tournament.
Adrian Halimi ended the day in a three-way tie for 37th after carding a second-round total of 75 and a third-round score of 80.
Moritz Ackerhans tied for 57 and was +20 for the tournament. John Pavelko finished one stroke behind Ackerhans and tied for 61st with seven other participants. Jan Juelicher rounded out the DePaul contingent and carded a 241 (+25) for the tournament.
DePaul combined for a 921 team scored and was edged by William and Mary for 10th place by four strokes. Georgia Southern captured the team title with a +15 – 879 for the tournament.
Trey Valentine from USF took home the individual title after finishing the tournament four-under.
The Blue Demons return to action Mar. 3-5 at the USF Invitational which will be played at Lake Jovita Golf Club.
