Westley, Juelicher Lead DePaul in Second Round

LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Jan Juelicher and Ben Westley each fired a one-under 70 in the second round of the Spring Break Championship to lead the Blue Demons on Saturday. Westley is tied for 36th while Juelicher is in a group in 41st place heading into Sunday’s final 18 holes.
DePaul started play on the back nine and Westley carded a two-over 37 on the back nine. He opened his final nine holes with three straight birdies and finished with a 33 on the front nine for a second-round score of 70. Westley is among three players in 36th place with a tournament total of 145.
After carding a 77 in the first round, Juelicher came back Saturday with a one-under 70 in his second round. Starting on the back nine, he birdied holes 10, 11 and 12 and added an eagle and another birdie after the turn for his round on Saturday. Juelicher is in a five-way tie for 41st (147) after starting the day tied for 67th place.
Russell Budd and Moritz Ackerhans each shot a 76 (+5) in the second round while Alex Lloyd carded a 79. Budd is tied for 63rd with a 151 while Ackerhans is 81st with a tournament total of 156. Lloyd has a two-round score of 164 and is in 85th place.
Brad Stephens is playing as an individual and sits in a group in 79th following a 79 on Saturday. He recorded a 76 in the first round for a two-day total of 155.
Florida State holds a seven-shot lead entering Sunday’s final round with a team score of 556 (-12). Northern Illinois is second at five-under while DePaul is 15th with a team score of 599. Florida State’s Brooks Koepka and Thomas Dunne from Northern Illinois are tied for the individual lead with scores of 136 (-6).
Sunday’s final 18 holes will be played at The Fountains CC as the Spring Break Championship concludes three days of action.
